Sebastian holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Münster, where he focused on the identification and validation of novel drug targets in gram-negative bacteria. His expertise includes the development and optimization of biophysical and biochemical assays, as well as computer-aided drug discovery.

At smartbax, Sebastian is responsible for establishing and performing biochemical assays to support SAR studies. He also leads the integration of physics-based computational modeling and machine learning approaches to accelerate small-molecule design and optimization.
